To the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department's website.

Organized in 1938 the Shaft Volunteer Fire Department continues to provide protection to the community of Shaft and its surrounding areas. The Shaft Volunteer Fire Department serves mutual aid to many local companies and a 25 square mile area outside of the city limits. A fairly busy department, Shaft Fire Department looks to deliver a comprehensive and tactical approach to firefighting and rescue on every call. Since being established in 1938, the Shaft Fire Department has grown to its current strength of over 30 active firefighters.

Calendar Events

The Shaft Volunteer Fire Department conducts it's Meetings on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at 1900 hrs, With Work Nights and Drills being held on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th Mondays of each month at 1830 hrs.

Ware does time for theft at Shaft Fire Department

On March 6, 2012 the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services notififed the Shaft Volunteer Fire Deparment that Donald Burton Ware was found guilty of violation of probation and the offender's probation was revoked.

MT STORM VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY, INC. • ORGANIZED The Mt Storm Volunteer Fire Company was organized as a department which began using 1 1929 engine out of 1 station on Route 50 at the intersection of Patterson Creek Road South. Today we operate out of a much newer and larger station located 1 mile east of the old Station on Route 50
